I’m not sure how max deals with it, but my approach in maya is creating set driven keys to the ‘rotate pivot xyz’ hidden channels on the controller or object in question. Works great for foot pitch/yaw/roll/ball rotate.
The downside is measuring out the translation to apply to the pivot, and that set driven keys can be sketchy at best when piled on top of each other. I think a condition and multiply divide node would work just as well though in place of that.
Either way – looks like you’ve got a similar system going on there which is great. Looking forward to new details when you can release them.
